The following review for 'HATS in 3D' was submitted by our NODA Eastern Area rep Michael Williamson for the Spring 2011 edition of 'NODA Eastern Area News':

"I am still a little uncertain about whether this production was in 3D, 2D or 4D but there is no doubt that this comedy drama group always come up with something original and a little mad! Very suitable for Hatters I suppose? This was described as a ‘unique extravaganza: In your face’ and consisted of a clever mixture of projection and live action. Some of the sketches were rather familiar; others recalled past productions by HATS but all were presented with enthusiasm, commitment and that special brand of HATS humour. I wasn’t sure about some of the origins but I particularly liked the ‘Short History of Visual Comedy’ which was well presented and perfectly timed. I also enjoyed the concept of ‘The Birds’. However, it seems inappropriate to single out individual sections or, indeed, individual performances. The talented cast of nine worked extremely hard to maintain atmosphere and pace and all are to be congratulated on a very enjoyable evening. Kevin, James and Giselle, as both directors and performers, are excellent comedy actors and their sense of timing is impeccable. The overall presentation was also slick and professional. This is clearly a team of people who have as much fun together off stage as on and the strong teamwork shines through. I look forward to the long awaited Comedy Horror when it finally reaches the stage. I hope that it will be in Cinemascope. Finally a word of praise for the programme which is always a good comedy read in itself and was, once again, very well presented and original".
