The following
review for 'Who Cares Wins' has been submitted by our NODA
Eastern Area rep Michael Williamson for the Autumn 2008
edition of 'NODA Eastern Area News':
"Described as
two one-act comedies with a medical care theme, this was a
fund-raising project in aid of Sue Ryder Care which involved most of
the HATS regulars. This is a relatively new group from the township
which combines drama, social activities and fund-raising in a very
positive and successful way and the enthusiasm shines through. Both
plays were very funny and there were some excellent individual
performances. The first, which took place in a hospital setting,
displayed an impressive array of props, equipment and effects which
added considerably to the atmosphere. Strong performances from
Madeleine Lillywhite, Tracey Lomax, Gisele Rawlins and Kevin Hughes
but Michael Skinner deserves particular praise for his expressive
role as the vulnerable patient, using little more than his eyes! The
second play moved at a faster pace to a hilarious conclusion and
Julie Jordan and Gisele Rawlins were especially well paired in the
central roles. This was a great team effort and included some
splendid silent, and not so silent, byplay from Kevin Hughes. Both
productions were a great credit to the company."
